BioThis past year has been full of new transitions and challenges in my life, transitions that would be difficult for anyone, but were especially difficult for me because when I was seven months old, I had a brain tumor which destroyed my optic nerve, leaving me totally blind. Last summer, I graduated from high school, trained for my first guide dog and started college. My life was such a whirlwind that I couldn't even think about how to write about it. But with summer vacation ahead of me, I decided now would be the perfect time to start a journal to reflect on my experiences over the last year, and write about new experiences in the years to come.
